What is BUNGUBOX?

BUNGUBOX is a Japanese stationery boutique known for its fountain pens, original inks, and deep connection to the culture of handwriting. Since 2023, Esterbrook has partnered with BUNGUBOX on a series of special pen releases that bring together Esterbrook’s design language and BUNGUBOX’s distinctive artisticpoint of view.

What's included in my order?

Included in your order will be the Flower pen itself, as welll as the specially designed packaging. The printed cherry blossom converter is also included inside the Estie.

Will there be other pens within this collection?

Yes. This collaboration is based on Kachofugetsu, a concept built around four symbols: Flower, Bird, Wind, and Moon. Esterbrook and BUNGUBOX will continue the series through all four, with each release drawing from a different part of that theme. Flower and Bird have already been completed, with Kingfisher launched earlier this year.

Artistry in Bloom

Esterbrook is thrilled to unveil the Kachofugetsu Flower Fountain Pen, a stunning collaboration with renowned Japanese artist, Kaoru, of BUNGUBOX.

In Japan, there are many beautiful words that have been used since ancient times to describe the beauty of nature. "Kachofugetsu" (Flower - Bird - Wind - Moon) is one of them. Inspired by this concept, the Kachofugetsu Flower Fountain Pen captures the essence of the Someiyoshino cherry tree in full bloom, with its barrel adorned with delicate blossoms.

A Flower That Never Fades

Crafted from beautiful semi-translucent crackled pink acrylic, the pen features gold accents and a signature gold plated nib bearing the Japanese character for "flower". The unique design allows you to see through to the printed converter, which is adorned with its own pretty pink blossoms.

We offer you this beautiful "flower" that will never fade away.

Beauty in Every Detail

From its crackled translucent body to its blossom-printed converter, the Flower pen brings thoughtful design into every part of the writing experience. Even the nib carries the Kachofugetsu character, adding a final detail that ties the piece back to the spirit of the collection.
