Esterbrook on the Big Screen!
Move over Meryl and DiNero, we have two new movie stars in town. Yes, that’s right, Esterbrook has made it to Hollywood!
If you’ve seen Nightmare Alley, you may remember a few scenes in particular when a fountain pen was used. The first scene is in Dr. Lilith Ritter’s (played by Cate Blanchett) office as she begins her diagnosis of Bradley Cooper’s character, Stan Carlisle. She pulls out a Tortoise Estie and begins taking notes. This scene begins at around 1:19:00 in the movie.
The second scene in which we see our Estie on the big screen is when Stan is given a polygraph test at around the 1-hour and 36-minute mark. Here, the examiner unscrews an Ebony Estie and marks the paper as Bradley Cooper answers his questions.
To see our pens in an Oscar-nominated movie is truly an honor for us! We can’t believe that people across the world – including a soundstage in Hollywood – appreciates the beauty and craftsmanship of our pens.

You can find Nightmare Alley on most streaming platforms, including Hulu and HBO Max. And a special thanks to PenBoyRoy for pointing this detail out to us!
