On Wednesday, January 28, at 2:00 PM EST, we will go live on TikTok for the first time, sharing some of our most exciting products, and giving you a chance to buy!
Get to know Charlotte before the show with a brief Q&A below:
What drew you to Esterbrook, and what made you want to join the team?
I worked in a stationery store that carried Esterbrook and I was always drawn to their pens and especially their specialty nibs. So when a friend reached out saying they were interested in talking, I jumped at the chance to chat with one of my favorite brands. Ryan invited me to the office in Mineola just to chat and I immediately felt like this was a team I could work with. Everyone’s very collaborative and supportive and they welcome new ideas and I felt very aligned in our visions for where the brand could go.
Tell us a bit about your background and how pens, writing, or stationery fit into it.
Funnily enough, while stationery has always been a hobby for me, I’m also a sound engineer, so I don’t use any sort of writing tools in that field. I’ve kept journals since I was a little kid. I’ve always kept a notebook and a pen on me in case I wanted to write something down. It wasn’t until I got into a certain planner brand that I decided I wanted to get into fountain pens. It wasn’t until the Blue Moon Estie was released last year that I finally got my first Estie. And then not long after that, one of my coworkers and I decided to get friendship pens, so we got the Twinkle and Fantasia Model JRs and swapped the grip sections to customize them.
In your first few months at Esterbrook, what’s something new you’ve learned about pens (or Esterbrook lol) that surprised you?
I’m a lifelong Peanuts fan, so I knew about Esterbrook’s history as the maker of the nib that Charles Schulz used to create his iconic characters. But I was surprised to learn that JFK used an Esterbrook pen to sign the bill that granted NASA the budget to put man on the moon. It’s cool to be with a company that has small but mighty touches in history.
What can viewers expect from your first TikTok live next week that they won’t get from a standard product post?
I’m can’t wait to show everyone just how different pen bodies can turn out. We don’t usually show this many bodies at once, and I love getting to see how a base color can vary.
What are you most looking forward to about going live?
I’m excited to chat with the community! It get so busy in the office and at shows that I don’t get a lot of time to talk about pens anymore, and I love to talk about pens!
Follow us on TikTok and join the fun!
