Introducing Our Leading Lady - Scarlet!

Scarlett O’Hara: Great balls of fire. Don’t bother me anymore, and don’t call me sugar.

Love. Is there anything more complicated? The answer is an emphatic no. In life, poetry, and fiction the subject has been explored ad nauseam, but perhaps there is no place it’s been more analyzed than film.

Leading ladies, in particular, are fascinating creatures when it comes to the ways of ardor. There are legends who need only one name: Garbo, Bacall, Marilyn, and Judy.

Then there are the modern single name stars: Meg, Julia, Reese, Kate and Meryl, just to name a few who fill our screens with the comedy, peril and ecstasy of true love. Whether it’s Andi in Pretty in Pink (a personal favorite,) Vivian in Pretty Woman, Celine in Before Sunrise, Buttercup in The Princess Bride, or the most famous of all, Scarlett O’Hara in Gone With the Wind, the sirens and (s)heroes of cinema romance are fierce, funny, and flawed in ways that are both fascinating and all too familiar.

They have inspired wedding vows, wedding songs, breakup songs and endless journal entries, where we quote their stories to help us tell our own. The newest Estie in our core line-up, is a tribute to all of these starlets. She’s red to symbolize love, passion, courage and action. She’s elegant, graceful, feisty and a little bit fancy.

And while Rhett Butler may not give a damn for her, she’s dear to us. She’s a new love for everyone, but she reminds us of the most singular one: Scarlet.
